The Invisible String by Patrice Karst A picture book for preschool and primary school children. It explains connection and comfort during times of separation or anxiety. It supports emotional literacy, narrative understanding and provides a helpful framework for discussing feelings in therapy or at home.
How to Talk So Kids Will Listen & Listen So Kids Will Talk by Adele Faber & Elaine Mazlish This classic guide taught me practical communication strategies that strengthen relationships and reduce conflict with my daughter and all the children I meet. It emphasises listening, accepting all feelings (not behaviours) and modelling emotional language.
